Your Hosts
In the late summer of 2023, Mary and Vic purchased the Trimmer House Bed & Breakfast from the former owners, Christi and Jim, who had operated the B&B since 2018.
Mary and Vic have spent much of their adult lives in the Finger Lakes area. Vic grew up in a Victorian home on a 35-horse ranch in the rural heart of the Finger Lakes. He used to teach and coach high school football, but now performs as a singer-songwriter on his acoustic guitars at numerous venues across western upstate New York.
Mary is a retired medical device engineer specializing in human factors and usability. She grew up in a small farm town in Central New York and traveled to the western part of the state to earn a degree in computer science from Rochester Institute of Technology. Now, the gentle, rolling hills and farmland surrounding Penn Yan bring back cherished memories of her childhood.
Mary and Vic have five adult children who now live in Pennsylvania, Tennessee, California, and nearby Fairport, New York, about an hour away. Family remains at the heart of their story, now enriched by nine grandchildren. Their sweet Australian Shepherd dog named “Tig” stays in the innkeeper’s quarters unless you’d like to meet him. He enjoys visitors to the Trimmer House and would welcome the opportunity to meet you.
